Site Home Dear Fellow SDS-ANS Members and Friends, Our next San Diego Section ANS dinner meeting will be on Wednesday 17 July. We will hold the election of our officers for the 2013-2014 term, and will have a featured speaker. 1. Election - we will send a ballot shortly. Feature Presentation - for our final meeting of the 2012-2013 year, we will deviate from discussions on nuclear power, and have a discussion on nuclear proliferation, nuclear weapons reduction treaties and the technology to verify compliance with the treaties. We have a special guest from Los Alamos National Laboratory to give a presentation. Dr. Duncan McArthur, Los Alamos National Laboratory Title "Challenges in Verification of Nuclear Weapons Reduction Treaties" Dr. McArthur is an eminent and long standing staff member at LANL. He worked at the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility (LAMPF), and later as a technical staff member and project leader in the Advanced Nuclear Technology and Safeguards Science and Technology groups. He has served as a project leader for a number of LANL nonproliferation projects managed by DOE/NNSA as part of Non Proliferation and Nuclear Weapons Reduction Treaty Verification programs.
